HKBU is a public-funded tertiary institution with a Christian education heritage. Founded in 1956, it is the second-oldest institution of higher learning in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is a university with a proud and illustrious history. Formerly known as the Hong Kong Polytechnic, the Institution assumed full university status in 1994.
